Seasons & Legacies – Ceremony Services & Terms

Our Services

1️⃣ Baby Naming Ceremony

Duration: 20–60 minutes
Starting Fee: £250
Celebrate the arrival of your little one with a personalised naming ceremony. Together we create a meaningful, joyful event that reflects your family’s love, values, and hopes.

Optional Add-Ons:
- Slideshow of baby photos (£50)
- Venue décor (flowers, table displays) (from £50)
- Symbolic rituals (candle lighting, wishing tree, sand ceremony, time capsule) (from £25)
- Additional readings or music (£25 per reading)

2️⃣ Funeral / Memorial Ceremony

Duration: 30–45 minutes
Starting Fee: £250 (special exceptions apply to notice period)
Honor the life of your loved one with a respectful, personalised memorial ceremony. We create a heartfelt service that celebrates their life, shares memories, and brings comfort to family and friends.

Optional Add-Ons:
- Slideshow of life photos (£50)
- Venue décor (flowers, memory table) (£50–£150)
- Symbolic rituals (candle lighting, tree planting, balloon release) (£25–£75 each)
- Additional readings or music (£25 per reading)

3️⃣ Funeral Script Writing Service (Self-Delivery)

Fee: £75
For families who wish to conduct the service themselves, we provide a professionally written, bespoke script for you to deliver in your own way and style.

4️⃣ Funeral Planning (Personalised Send-Off Wishes & Script)

Fee: from £150
This service supports individuals who wish to plan their own farewell in advance. Together, we will carefully record your personal wishes for the style, tone, readings, music, rituals, and details of your ceremony.

The outcome includes:
- A written record of your wishes for safekeeping
- A fully prepared bespoke ceremony script, ready to be used when the time comes
- Copies provided to you, securely held by Seasons & Legacies, and optionally shared with your chosen funeral director or legal representative

This ensures your ceremony reflects your exact wishes and provides your family with comfort, clarity, and a ready-to-deliver service.

5️⃣ Vow Renewal Ceremony

Duration: 30–60 minutes
Starting Fee From: £550 
Reaffirm your love and commitment with a personalised vow renewal ceremony.

Optional Add-Ons:
- Slideshow of couple’s memories (£50)
- Venue décor (flowers, candles, tables) ( From £50)
- Unity rituals (candle lighting, sand ceremony, wine/water blending) (£25–£75 each)
- Additional readings or music (£25 per reading)

Wedding Ceremony

Duration: 30–60 minutes
Starting Fee From: £750 
Celebrate your love with a bespoke wedding ceremony crafted around your story, values ad style. This ceremony is unhique to you and can include personalised vows, symbolic rituals , and meaningful readings.

Optional Add-Ons:
- Slideshow of your love story  ( from £80)
- Venue décor (flowers, candles, tables) ( From £300)
- Unity rituals (candle lighting, sand ceremony, wine/water blending) (£25–£75 each)
- Additional readings or music (£25 per reading)

 

General Terms

- A 50% deposit is required to secure your date. The balance is payable 14 days before the ceremony (This does not apply to funerals where the balance will be due 5 days before the ceremony)
- Travel & accommodation costs apply for venues outside a 20-mile radius.
- If your ceremony requires an early morning, late evening or midnight start with overnight stay, accommodation costs will be charged to the client.
- If the distance requires alternative transport (train, ferry, or flight), these costs will be charged to the client.
- Any additional clothing requirements (if not supplied by the client) will be charged at cost.
- Personal mementos or ceremonial items (candles, displays, glasses, vases, stones, ribbons for handfasting, etc.) will be charged to the client at cost.
- Special charges may apply for last-minute bookings (less than 14 days’ notice, except funerals).
- We ask all guests and participants to observe respectful behaviour during ceremonies.

Copyright & Confidentiality

- The copyright of your bespoke ceremony remains with Seasons & Legacies.
- All examples, drafts, and final scripts are confidential under a mutual non-disclosure agreement and may not be shared, copied, or passed to third parties without written permission.
- Your signed agreement also serves as release for photographic likenesses used for Seasons & Legacies promotional purposes (print or electronic). Images will never be exploited in any way.

Legal Information

Please note that if your booking relates to a Wedding Celebration Ceremony, Commitment Ceremony, Handfasting, or Partnership Ceremony, it will not be legally recognised in England and Wales.

To formalise the legal requirements, you must:
- Attend a Registry Office or licensed venue with a registrar present to conduct the legal matters, or
- Arrange your ceremony at licensed premises, with a registrar present, should you wish the legal formalities and the individual ceremony to take place on the same day.

 

Complaints & Resolution

At Seasons & Legacies, we strive to provide a warm, professional, and personalised service for every ceremony. However, we recognise that on rare occasions, concerns may arise.

  1. Raising a Concern
    • If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us in writing (email or letter) within 14 days of the ceremony or incident.
    • Include as much detail as possible, including dates, the nature of your concern, and any supporting information.
  2. Resolution Process
    • We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 5 working days.
    • A Seasons & Legacies representative will review the complaint and aim to respond with a resolution or proposed next steps within 14 days.
    • Resolution may include discussion, clarification, or, where appropriate, partial reimbursement or additional support.
  3. Professional Association Support
    • While there is no central regulatory body for celebrants in the UK, Seasons & Legacies is committed to best practice and may involve professional association guidance (e.g., Humanists UK or UK Celebrants Network) if necessary.
  4. Legal & Contractual Matters
    • If the complaint relates to contractual obligations, financial matters, or breaches of this agreement, and resolution cannot be reached directly, the matter may be referred to alternative dispute resolution or civil proceedings in accordance with UK law.
  5. No Impact on Ceremonial Outcomes
    • Complaints about the service or conduct of the celebrant do not affect the legal recognition of a ceremony, if the ceremony is combined with a legal registrar for weddings.
